Course 50240: Set up, Manage, and Maintain a Virtual Environment using Microsoft Windows Server with Hyper-V and System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008
This course is a two-day “deep-dive” that complements the one-day overview course. It dives deeper into the virtualization technologies and the ways organizations can leverage them, including provisioning virtual machines with Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008 (SCVMM), clustering, and protecting the virtual environment. Combined with the one-day course it is a good preparation for Microsoft certification exams 70-652 and 70-403.
This course is intended for IT professionals and consultants, Designers, System administrators, and Technical sales professionals.
- Experience with the Windows 2003/2008 operating system
- Module 1: Introduction to Virtualization
- Module 2: Intermediate SCVMM 2008
- Module 3: Planning and Sizing a Dynamic Data Center
- Module 4: Clustering and High Availability with Hyper-V
- Module 5: Storage Solutions for VHDs and Quick Migration
- Module 6: Resource and Workload Optimization in a Virtual Dynamic Data Center
In order for a class to be successful, all students should share the same general level
of knowledge and experience. If a participant does not demonstrate these, the instructor will take
the necessary steps either to prepare the participant or place him/her in a more appropriate course.
